Mijn buddy heet Samual, Zhou Ming. Hij studeert Engels en Russisch in Suse.
Vandaag heb ik kort contact gehad met Samual. Hij vertelde mij hoe hij vorig jaar 12 mei 2008 de beving heeft beleeft.
Mail van Samual:
In that afternoon we were preparing to go into the classroom on the fourth floor. And our foreign teacher Winston was opening the door. Most of our classmates waited behind him .I sat down on the step stone chatting with my classmates as usual. The teaching building was full of students and teachers who were ready to have class. These were what we did before the earthquake. Everything was going as usual, nothing different.
After a few seconds, something strange happened to us. Why I use "strange" because we, as we are youth, never had the experience of earthquake. I had the feeling that someone was pushing me. My arse was shaking obviously and I asked my guy "what are you doing?". He responded with harmless expression. It is amusing that some girls were also asking each other "do you feel something?" At the same time Winston cannot put the key into the key hole to open the door. Suddenly a girl shouted loudly "wow! Earthquake, run!" All the people seemed clear at once and ran to the ground. People packed the floor. But our teachers ask us to be orderly. It was still shaking when we were on the ground. I still remember that the electrical wiring was swishing. We could hear the shaking of the windows. I saw some girls crying. All the people waited on the ground. However, nobody told us how to do at first. Because at that moment no one realized the seriousness of the issue. After a few minutes our school asked all the students to go to the playground waiting for next the new.
A few minutes later, I knew it is a serious earthquake happened in wenchuan from the mobile paper. Most of our students were busy to phone their families or good friends including me. But it was in wain. There was no signal at all. Everyone was anxious seat and blindfold.
At that night, we took our mattings to the playground or someplace wide to stay over. The school seemed very busy .(the picture I gave to you) In the mid-night, we still felt aftershocks. We stayed on the playground for more than two days which are really very special for our lives. And the colleges in chengdu even stopped having classes for a longer time.

Those days we also payed close attention to the TV from which we knew the seriousness of the quake .many people died. Most of girl cried when they were moved by the news. It was really moving in those days, memorable days.
